Chapter 1 Route Overview
Episode One introduces Sal Fisher just after he and his father move into room 402 of Addison Apartments. The building looks ordinary from the street, but every floor holds a strange tenant, a locked door, or a story that does not quite add up. A police officer outside room 403 confirms that Sal has arrived in the middle of an active murder investigation.
The chapter is compact, but it establishes the habits that matter throughout Sally Face: inspect backgrounds, revisit characters after every discovery, and use the Gear Boy when it begins to react. Optional conversations with Larry and Lisa also unlock achievements and explain why the apartments have such a disturbing reputation.
Chapter 1 Walkthrough: Steps, Codes & Choices
Follow this in story order to finish the Chapter. Cutoff mistakes, replay-only awards, and the full achievement hunt are in the Chapter 1 Walkthrough Guide.

Step 1 – Complete the dream and enter 5364
Answer the phone, switch on the light, move the cabinet, and inspect the key for the first digit. Follow the doors that spell DOG. The four clues appear on the key, the corridor wall, the tree above the dog, and the grave wall. Enter 5364 at the final keypad; using the correct code is required for the Gear Boy achievement path.
◉ Tip: Write down 5364. The same four digits return as part of a late-game code.

Step 2 – Search room 402 and meet the neighbors
Move the furniture in Sal's bedroom to collect the Gear Boy, then take the batteries from the grocery bags in the kitchen. Speak with the officer at 403, Lisa on the third floor, Charley in 204, Mr. Addison in 103, and the detective near the lobby. Ask Lisa about things to do for fun to receive basement access.

Step 3 – Meet Larry and investigate room 403
Collect the game cartridge from the basement Lost and Found, then enter apartment 1B and talk to Larry. Follow his plan to inspect the murder scene in 403. Examine the nightstand, chalk outline, and Glitter Pony evidence before reporting back. Listen to the Sanity's Fall track whenever Larry offers it.

Step 4 – Use the tea and reveal Charley's secret
Get Addison tea, then choose either the sleeping aid or old laxative route. Give the prepared tea to Charley so you can search his collection and recover the decisive piece of evidence. Finish any Gear Boy chapters and optional ghost encounters before ending the episode, because the chapter completion locks in your result.
